About three weeks ago,I was part of a similar experience as Tony Farley had.A
friend loaned his Mayberry squadcar to
me for a week.I took it to Vacation Bible School for three nights. The children
were really excited with the car.The church
was showing various episodes while we ate.A good time was had by all.

I also took the car to two different rest homes. The residents came out with
their walkers,canes,wheelchairs.While the
whistling theme was playing, they were swaying side to side, moving their arms
overhead,and Lord how mercy,were they
evermore clapping. They sat in the car,had their picture(s) taken. They enjoyed
the whistling music and the redlight, but by
far, they really enjoyed the siren. They kept requesting the siren over and
over.When I left these facilities,I realized I probably
had more fun than they did collectively.

I have since had a phone call from both facility managers.I was told the
residents want the squadcar back again...soon.
Who knows, that may have been the highlight of their otherwise bland day to day
life.Hopefully I will be able to accomadate
them again...soon.

The trouble with some women is that they get all excited about nothing....and
then they marry him.
