The question seems like a simple one, but the criteria needs to be clear. When talking about Episodes with the fewest characters..do you or do you not count background actors/speaking characters.??
I tend to count only main characters and guest stars who speak. If that is the case, then Hot Rod Otis has the fewest. (this was is easiest because you can look them up in a book/website) If you count Background actors-I'll go with David Quinn's post above, because I have never counted. Maybe a compromise would be to count background actors as half-a-boy..you know like Horatio.
