I spent a very unnerving and unsettling thirty minutes this evening
watching the events in the middle east unfold during the evening newscast.
At times it was almost more than I could endure. It really affected me more
than I want to admit and the images of the hatred and unrest stayed with me
for a long time. I knew the only antidote would be to visit Mayberry. So I
went downstairs to our family room and I watched thirty minutes of TAGS and
another thirty minutes of Leave it to Beaver. Just spending time in
Mayberry and Mayfield brought my psyche back to within a normal range. My
entire mood and outlook changed for the better. Thank goodness for these
wonderful episodes that show people and life the way it was meant to be.
