Opie's RETURN TO MAYBERRY "house" was a real house, located in Los Olivos CA (near Santa Barbara), where the reunion movie was filmed.
THE WALTONS' exterior house was a facade on the Warner Brothers Studios backlot in Burbank. It currently resides on Warner Bros.' Ranch backlot, also in Burbank, a few blocks north of WB's main lot. Prior to THE WALTONS, the exterior was Sam Jones' farmhouse on MAYBERRY RFD. The WB facade is still in use, and in various redressed disguises has been used for GILMORE GIRLS, COLD CASE, many more.
