Hey, Mayberry friends. If you listen to the Mayberry Podcasts you know that recently it's been about animals so I'd like to share this little gem. Keep Jimmy the goat in mind. I have a friend who raises goats for fun and profit, (C.J. in Cincinatti says "goats sent my daughter through beauticians school.") Well, he had an ornery billy that had to be kept separate from the others and he had him staked out on a chain to keep him from causing trouble. After a thunderstorm one night, he went out the next morning to find the billygoat dead. The only thing he could figure was the billy was struck by lightning. I guess the stake and chain made a good ground.(electrician's term.) Giraffes are not the only animals susceptible to lightning. At least he had the consolation to know that the goat died a quick death. (Bless his heart.)
