I have read in several books that Andy said he did not know the identity of Mr.
Schwump. And he seemed to imply that he was not particulary interested in
searching for him.
However there is someone else we could ask. How about Farley Upchurch?
Farley (Frank Cady) celebrated his 95th birthday last month and lives in
Portland Oregon with his wife. Shoot, he is probably in the phone book. He
was in the episode where Barney rides the train back to town, and I am pretty
sure Mr. Schwump was in it as well. Someone with more gumption than me could
call him up and ask him if he knew Mr. Schwump.
Orville Hendricks - Selling Butter and Eggs. Old Farley is 95 huh? Sure hope
I look that good when I get to be 95.
