I think we've probably "beat this horse to death" concerning the do's & don'ts of displaying the red light, sheriff signs & etc. I have a SC State Trooper in my church that says I'm a great deterent when I'm "cruising" in my 1961 Ford Fairlane. He said people have a tendency to slow down. I wouldn't worry too much about the local law enforcement folks. 90% of them love Mayberry just like us. I might suggest joining and supporting your states sherriff association and displaying the sticker on your squad car.
My philosophy is, "it's easier to ask for forgiveness then get permission." Nuff said!
