My son went to Hollywood and was an extra. Worked about every day for 2
years. He told us that when you speak even one word in a show, you make more
money, so the Hollywood bigwigs aren't going to just let anybody have lines to
speak. I sure wish they'd let my son have some lines on the shows he was in,
cause then he'd probably still be out West doing the things he loved
most. But, extras don't make enough money to pay the rent AND eat, so he
moved back home. Anyhow, my point is, Mr. Schwump was like my son, no lines,
little money. Now when I watch a show or movie, I am always alert to those who
don't get to talk and I always think, "They didn't make much money for that
show." Poor things. Wonder if Mr. Schwump finally had to move back and live
with his mother?
