***Sgt Hacker has not shown up yet. There in the credits are names like Ruth Burch and Harvey Bullock.***
Sgt. Hacker makes his first appearance in season 2 of Gomer Pyle, the episode where Lombardi loses his wedding ring while he and Gomer are making bread on KP. Hacker ominously waves his butcher knife at the two, much like the bullies he played several times on TAGS. I always thought it was a shame we never got to ask Ruth Burch before her passing what she knew about Mr. Schwump. Her name appears in the credits of several of the episodes he appeared in, and since she was the casting director she would have to know.
