Okay, my previous post (which is probably somewhere else in this e-mail) got me thinking about a somewhat abstract topic: how much "inequality" is there in your TAGS viewing? That is, have you seen every episode approximately the same number of times, or is there a really wild difference between your "most seen" and "least seen" episodes? For me, I think my TAGS viewing is pretty unequal. I know there is at least one episode---possibly more than one---that I've only seen once. Of course, there are several episodes I've seen probably 50+ times (although to some of you, I'm sure I sound like a very casual TAGS viewer!). I've tried with some success multiple times to watch the entire series in order via both TV Land and the DVDs.
(For the academically/mathematically inclined, the above got me thinking about generating a Lorenz curve and Gini coefficient to describe an individual's TAGS viewing history.) Anyway, this leads me to two sets of questions to throw out there. First, how equal or unequal is your TAGS viewing? Are there those out there who think they have seen every episode about the same number of times? What about those who, like me, have seen some episodes a lot and others hardly at all? Second, how do you "ingest" TAGS? Perhaps others have already done surveys like this, but I'm wondering what answers our list members would give to these questions: 1. How do you watch TAGS? a) through television stations only (TV Land, TBS, WGN, local stations) or tvland.com b) through the official Paramount DVDs, public domain episode DVDs, or VHS tapes c) both 2. For those who watch on DVD/VHS, how do you choose what episodes to watch? a) I try to watch the episodes in order b) I tend to stick with my favorites c) I just watch whatever I feel like watching on a given day d) I choose at random e) a little bit of everything (My answers: 1. C--though more B these days, actually; 2. E) Hope I haven't bored anyone! --a deceitful wretch hiding out in Oxford, Ohio (the Nashville of the North) _______________________________________________ WBMUTBB mailing list [email protected] http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
