I've always wondered why Siler City was mentioned so many times in the series. It isn't close to Mount Airy and it isn't a large city. Nothing against Siler City, though. I've been through there many times on Highway 421 on the way to the beach. I wonder if maybe Andy had relatives there or if maybe the writers just liked the way it sounded.
