I drive through Sylacauga AL almost every weekend (going to "the country"
house). I am not aware of a Jim Nabors museum, but you may be interested in
knowing that US Highway 280 has officially been renamed as "The Jim Nabors
Highway" (at least through the Sylacauga area).

Another point of connection with Jim Nabors is that while attending the
University of Alabama, he participated in the University's ROTC program for
the four years he attended. This fact is of particular interest to me as my
son also went through the JROTC program at his High School and is now
attending the USAF Academy...watching TAGS via DVD when ever he has time!

I for one am proud that there are so many links between TAGS and The State
of Alabama.

Subject: Sylacauga Alabama

I have not been there, but I do remember an article in The Bullet a number
of years ago that mentioned some sort of site there which displayed some of
his memorabilia.

While you're in Alabama, maybe you can swing by Jasper, hometown of George
Lindsey.

>>> Today I located Jim Nabors's hometown, Sylacauga. Is there a museum
>>> there devoted to Jim/Gomer?
