IMHO, the project is still evolving as some others said in the thread. There's still the risk of a tutorial bringing new users who try/see that it doesn't work as well as it should/loudly complain before giving up. Documentation will be good when users can actually do something useful in a reliable way. The dogfood step makes sense - if the wave documentation can't be maintained in a wave, what's the point!
