Dr. Sara Roy, a professor and researcher at Harvard University, and one of the world's leading scholars on Israel's occupation of Gaza and the West Bank, will be speaking as part of VTJP's "Image and Reality" Series, on November 8, 2005, at 7 p.m., at the T.W. Wood Art Gallery. The gallery is located in College Hall on the campus of Vermont College, in Montpelier.
Dr. Roy is an American Jew and the child of Holocaust survivors. Her presentation, which will be more personal than academic, will chart and explore her political and academic evolution as a scholar deeply engaged with the question of Palestine, and the relationship of her views and work to her understanding of Judaism and her life as a child of Holocaust survivors.
