Perhaps a little off topic but none the less an important subject for us to understand.  I hope many of you can make it to one of these talks.

David Ray Griffin, Professor of Philosophy and Religion, and Professor Emeritus at Claremont School of Theology in California will be speaking about "The Truth Behind 9/11 and American Empire" in Burlington and Montpelier (Schedule of events below)

A Central figure in the 9/11 Truth Movement, David Ray Griffin author of  The New Pearl Harbor: Disturbing Questions about the Bush Administration and 9/11 and The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions.

On April 18, he spoke at the University of Wisconsin, and it was later broadcast nationally over C-Span cable network.  From his extensive research, he has concluded that the Bush Administration knew of the 9/11 attacks, allowed them to happen, and  helped orchestrate them, in order to rally public support for its agenda of worldwide military and economic domination, especially of Mideast oil and gas reserves.

In a story the next day, the Wisconsin State Journal (WSJ, which endorsed Bush before the last election) reported that Griffin said "The government's  version of the attacks is so implausible that it can't be true. The numerous inconsistencies and far-fetched explanations from Bush officials show that the attacks must have been planned and executed by our own military and political leaders."

Griffin acknowledges that before his research and books on 9/11, he was not inclined toward believing in conspiracy theories.  But the WSJ, after describing four of Griffin's key arguments, quotes him as saying: "There is sufficient evidence to suggest that there is no escape from the frightful conclusion that 9/11 was engineered by the Bush Administration and its Pentagon.  All citizens, but particularly people of religious faith, must seek the truth about 9/11, create new means to spread the information, and work to thwart Bush's attempts at global domination."
