Trying to understand more about the benchmarks, couple of questions I have are:

1. In slide 6 of 1Tb/s presentation[1] it says Intel® Xeon® 6338N 32 Cores, 2.2
GHz, 42 MB Cache, but Intel arc[2] shows a cache of 48MB. I presume this is a
typo in the presentation slide.

2. Xeon® Gold 6338N Processor has 64 PCI Express v4.0 lanes. Same slide 6 shows
Network I/O PCIe Gen4: 600 Gbps. I am trying to understand how that calculation
is made. If I understand it correctly, each PCIe 4.0 lane has a bandwidth of
1.98GB/s[3] or 15.76 Gb/s  which gives a total of 1006.64.

3. Checking the specs[3] of Intel E810-2CQDA2, it needs 16 lanes of PCIe 4.0,
while   Xeon® Gold 6338N has 64 lanes. Slide 12 of the presentation says:
"nominal forwarding rate for tested FD.io VPP configuration is 600 Gbps per
Processor." My understanding is that to achieve  600 Gbps of _forwarding_ rate
the system needs 6 100Gbps card pair. ie one in and one out x 6. With 64 lanes
in the processor, I am not able to figure out how 6 cards where connected to a
single processor.

4. Same slide no 12 says "Not all cores are used." I was wondering if the
actual number of cores used for this benchmark is published some where for
reference.

I am curios about how DDIO performed during this test and if there was any
cache evictions of packet to main memory, also how exactly the full traffic
load was distributed across the cards and across the cores.

The benchmark gave a fantastic result about the capability of VPP and latest
intel CPUs, but more information about the tests would others to replicate as
well as to learn from this

Cheers!

X.
