[vpp-dev] vpp_papi.py error

I git cloned vpp gerrit repo yesterday and during using "sudo make
build-release" I run into this error.  Is a bug filed for this issue?
Python 2.7 doesn't like a "*" for an arg.

    def __init__(self, *, apifiles=None, testmode=False, async_thread=True,

                        ^

SyntaxError: invalid syntax
