Hi Neale, Thanks for your response! Note - This issue is not reproduced in labs but coming in one of our deployment sites. Ah well, if it’s in deployment and not your labs, then it’s probably the polarisation frequency of the flux capacitor 😉 Let me explain the issue - Client <------------> SUT(VPP 19.08 + our customized plugins) <-------------------->Server While sending icmpv6 (Echo Request) from client towards server , sometimes that Request comes out from the wrong interface. ie Client <------------> SUT(VPP 19.08 + our customized plugins) <-------------------->Server -----ECHO Request--> -<----ECHO Request— Request or reply here? Is it VPP’s echo response that is not forwarded correctly? Again, you have to time me more about ‘sometimes’. What are the conditions that are different. For example, the patch you first pointed to might be an issue if you happen to be adding/deleting routes when the reply is sent. - Are we aware about any such known issues ? -Suggest anything we should look into out-of-tree plugin code , which could narrow down the issue. A packet trace of the working and non-working case would certainly help. Plus the output of ‘sh ip6 fib’ so we can try and determine which route it is using. /neale Thanks, Chetan Bhasin On Tue, Nov 17, 2020 at 3:59 PM Neale Ranns (nranns) <nra...@cisco.com<mailto:nra...@cisco.com>> wrote: Hi Chetan, I think you’ll have to expand a bit on ‘sometimes’ for us to help. Sometimes a packet comes out of the wrong interface , looks like due to wrong fib lookup. I have found one change which is not part of our code https://gerrit.fd.io/r/c/vpp/+/27255 Can anybody please suggest , is that change could cause such a problem ? Thanks, Chetan Bhasin
