Subject: Re: [vpp-dev] Crash in ACL code while applying rulematch

Hi Andrew,

We could not try the same test with the change you suggested.
We will try it for sure in this week.

Regarding our scenario for example:
we have 4 workers.
All the 4 workers can create ACLs and also can process data.
During high load of data and create ACLs, we are seeing this crash.
There are NO delete of ACLs done in the test.

BV: I guess, even if it is mere creation, for a brief instant between creation
of 2 ACE, under an ACL, an ‘implicit deny’(drop packet) is assumed in data
path. In scaled operations, in a multi worker scenario, a race condition could
arise.. No?

Thanks & Regards,
Murthy

As I mentioned earlier, after putting a lock around the "add acl" and
"rulematch acl" code, issue got solved.
