If you do a 'file' on vppctl now - you will see its a binary.
Strange must have been an installer issue.

            In the example, "vppctl -s /run/vpp/cli-vpp1.sock" was used.
            But, my vppctl does not support "-s" option.

            I have version v17.07.01.
            Do I need to get newer version to get support of "-s"?
