Hello Mathieu, I decided to give Vagrant a shot, on my Windows 7 machine. It worked much better than I had expected. When I gave the command "vagrant up", it built all the code exactly like if I had done ...make build-release; make pkg-deb in my usual VM as far as I can tell (it did that after creating a new VM.) It definitely completed that with no errors. Now I didn't see instructions on the wiki for setting the variable VPP_VAGRANT_POST_BUILD, so having that unset, my "vagrant up" did not try to go beyond building. Maybe you can give a more precise description of the steps you executed and the failures, and I can compare with what I have here. It should be fairly straightforward to set up VirtualBox and the VM, and then git clone https://gerrit.fd.io/r/p/vpp.git and then make install-dep, make bootstrap, and so forth. You might even be able to point out to other VPPers where the vagrant scripts fall short based on comparison to this method. Admittedly I know little about the purposes and goals of Vagrant, as opposed to the alternate approach. Was anyone able to build vpp either: -in a windows machine running vagrant (ubuntu or centos)? I tried both, could not build it properly (Vagrant image not installing few libs, make not making, etc.) -in AWS? I was able to build, with a few errors here and there, but i got a segmentation fault when trying to start vpp. I just want to know if that was done before. thanks. <image001.png> Mathieu Duperre SOFTWARE SYSTEMS ENGINEER.SALES mdupe...@cisco.com<mailto:mdupe...@cisco.com> Tel: +1 919 927 1296<tel:(919)%20927-1296> Cisco Systems, Inc.
