Do you think this is related? If the problem persists, and you can provide a simple test case that demonstrates the problem, I might be able to take a look at it. Needless to say, there were several squirrelly areas around the use of the M, S and W macros. I might have exposed an odd case... For example, as I did my tour around api_format.c and friends, I noticed several memory leaks in the test code. If anyone cares about those, I could track some down and file Jira reports or so.
