His statement is designed to reduce fears about its production during application of LENR. If creation of tritium were the goal, this rate could be easily increased.

Actually Alan, this is a good idea. Tom Claytor has been slowly mastering production of tritium using cold fusion to the point where this might be a practical source. But as you point out, the excess energy would be a problem. :-)

I just listened to your and Tom's Tritium panel videos.

He does get a Tritium peak, in a plasma system, depending on the H/D ratio and excitation ... but Tritium production's at most in the 500 picoCuries per gram per hour range : he said something like "you'd have to run a 100MW reactor for years to get enough for anyone to be concerned about carrying it in your pocket."
