Houses will not have power wiring. It is dangerous, after all. It can
electrocute people or cause FIRES, even if it is DC.

Scenario 1, lots of electric stuff:

10720 W Total Starting Volt-Amps: 23100 VA, surge is 2.2 times running
demand

Scenario 2, mostly electronic stuff, with cold fusion supplying the rest:

5195 W Total Starting Volt-Amps: 9300 VA, surge is 1.8 times running demand.

As I said, adding a chemical battery or an ultracapacitor to the generator
would help. Many cold fusion devices are slow to respond to control
parameters. Actually, most of them refuse to respond. They are like cats.
(Real, live ones, not eCats.) Anyway, if the Rossi device is slow to crank
up additional heat, it will require a large buffer for a generator or an
automobile engine.

It may be that Rossi devices will take a long time to turn on in the first
place. This will not matter. There is no need to turn off a cold fusion
reactor, except for maintenance. You can leave it running in stand-by mode.
This is a waste of energy, but it costs nothing.

Until the late 1980s, natural gas stoves and water heaters had stand-by
pilot light that wasted energy, which is somewhat analogous to leaving a
cold fusion reactor running. Energy was cheap and no one cared about the
waste. Equipment was cheaper and simpler because we traded off efficiency.
With cold fusion, we will do that again. Automobiles have gone from roughly
15% Carnot efficiency to 20%, to around 35% for hybrid cars, I think. With
cold fusion, if it is cheaper to make them 15% again, we will. Or if that
makes them last longer. We will not make them only 5% efficient because that
makes the motors ungainly, like a 19th century steam powered tractor:

For a home generator, moving parts will wear out sooner than thermoelectric
devices, so the latter will eventually become the standard. Automobiles with
wheels must have moving parts anyway, so perhaps turbines or Stirling
engines will remain in use.

I would like to have a superconducting automobile that hovers.
