Assuming the pressure does not increase outside the range of the pumps specs, regardless of the phase, the water will exit through the chimney. If the chimney were filled with water, as some people claim, then that alone would cause a pressure increase in the ecat. The pressure increase is given by density*g*height, or 10 kPa * height (in m). So if the height of the chimney is 10 cm, then the increase in the pressure is 1 kPa, which increases the bp by 0.3C. Perhaps that's why the > newer e-Cats have a shorter chimney -- because baffles were put inside.
