I find it far fetched too. But if he can do this . . . and if it turns out
that only a few isotopes of nickel are useful . . . I wonder if he could use
this technique (whatever it might be!) to stretch out the supply of nickel.

I recall that someone asked him if he can transmute all kinds of elements
into other elements. He said he cannot.

People have been speculating for years that cold fusion might eventually
evolve into industrial scale transmutation. I think Gene Mallove first
suggested that.
