Summary: A dolphin was found swimming around a flooded rice paddy 2 km
from shore. It was washed ashore by the tsunami. The water in the
paddy was still mainly ocean water so the animal was alright. It was
rescued by a group of volunteers who have organized themselves to help
pets that are orphaned or lost after the catastrophe. They have
rescued 80 cats and dogs so far. [This seems to be the first dolphin
they have rescued.]

They called the local aquarium but the facility is damaged and could
not take the animal, so they wrapped it in a wet towel, drove it back
to the ocean, and let it go. It was probably a young animal, judging
from the size and color. . . .

I gather it was last seen swimming out to sea.
