No, not really... but do we know anything about his wife's technical
background???

The thought was really about his needing to protect the IP rights from those
who have a grudge
(legal or otherwise) against him... so he assigned the legal rights to someone
else...

If this is as big as it seems, he's in for a real battle... they'll be coming
out of the woodwork to
make claims or try to extract something if they have any leverage at all from
his past dealings.
Sad, but reality. I doubt it'll slow things down much... he'll almost for sure
have the financial
resources to fight the battles... but will he have competent attorneys?

Is his wife on the patent as assignee???

Are you implying that this was (partly) Maddy's idea, by that comparison :-)

. I think it more likely the (25 million Euro) bill for toxic dumping may have
had a little
something to do with it too, bankruptcy laws being what they are in some
countries.

This from the italian article sent to Jed by Pierre (earlier posting):

"The prototype, already covered by patents owned by Maddalena Pascucci, wife of
Ross[i]..."

Article in La Republicca Bologna : http://bit.ly/gm9mlQ (translation is not
perfect !)

That must be a translation error... but it reminds me of rumors about
Einstein's first wife.
