I wish everyone here would tell him, and if he will not retract and
apologize you should make a stink, and protest to the AIP. This kind
of thing will not stop until you stand up and demand respect. This
guy would not go around denigrating other groups of scientists. He
would not make demonstrably false statements about other research. So
you should not allow him to attack your work in this manner.
Please don't forget, we are talking about a major opinion maker in
the scientific community. The executive director of one of the
world's leading scientific societies! If he were an anonymous
blogger, or a mass media reporter, or a nitwit editor on Wikipedia it
would be a waste of time or perhaps beneath your dignity to respond.
You should not let this pass unchallenged.
