I visited the Green Bank site many years ago. Automobiles of visitors have
to park at a distance, local transport is by deisel vehicles. There was a a
classified 600 ft. dish which purportedly was to look a Russian radar
signals bounced off the moon.

Did you know there is a 13,000-square-mile National Radio Quiet Zone? I
have read that a guy who works there spent all day looking for a source of
noise, and found it was a sparking heating pad in a dog house, in a farm
owned by an elderly couple. He bought them (or their dog, actually) a new
heating pad.
