It's a sermon to the Israelites telling
them in no uncertain terms that they _will_ be returned to Israel, and
that the mountains of Israel _will_ once again be theirs. It is quite
possible that Ezekiel, single-handed, was responsible for the remnant of
the Israelites remaining "a nation" and not simply allowing themselves
to be assimilated, as were the "lost 10 tribes" which were carried into
exile earlier and apparently vanished.

The joke will be on Edom ( Ez.36:5) just as it was on Edom ( 2 Chr.20:23) .
As it happened in Jehosaphat's time, so will it happen again ( the valley of
decision.. the valley of Jehosaphat. Ez. prophecy in 36: 1-12 has NOT yet
happened. What Ez. describes does not fit with the return of a remnant of
Judah after 70 years of exile.The kingsdom was not restored at that time and
remains unrestored to this day. Yet Ez states that it will.
Who are these people that call themselves Zionists living today in the
nation they call Israel? They did not celebrate the year of Jubilee in
1998.
