One of the recurrent themes in alternative-energy circles is so-called
"suppression" ... i.e. the deliberate monetary and/or strong-arm
suppression of anything which the oil industry (or alternatively the
military, or better-yet, the military-industrial complex) considers to
be threatening to their continued hegemony of energy resources (and
outrageous profits).
The term "suppression" can cover a lot of ground, and some of it is
bound to be false, even if the bulk of it is true. This is part of the
lore of everything in commercial life, almost, in that there are never
going to be clearly-defined borders when there is any possibility of
*greed* being one of the motivators.
Given "greed" as you motivator, it is clear that even murder, even
mass-murder or genocide, is no impediment to some individuals at the
very highest levels. What Saddam did on a small scale, the Cheney cabal
seems to have turned into an art-form... (many feel that Bush himself
is/was little more than a puppet in this contrived War, the lies of WMD
and that Dick Cheney is the evil genius).
Anyway, this suppression-theme goes back in history to at least the
Pogue carburettor, before WW ll, and if nothing else, it makes for a
good storyline for those of us who detest big-oil and their tactics of
greed and profiteering .... but also realizing that it is a convenient
"cop-out" for others. By 'cop-out' I mean a facile and convenient
excuse for failed-promoters or dubious inventors who have taken
investment money inappropriately from backers, and who have failed to
produce the results which they had promised.
The "MIB" or the "oil-goons" provide the perfect cop-out for con-artists
galore ... and the field of alternative energy attracts this type of
promoter like a magnet. Is Paul Zagouras of Brocton Mass. one of them?
The problem is that what is "real" in this story-line of the energy
'suppression game' has many nuances... and all of them are easily overly
dramatized, with the backdrop of $100/barrel oil (and trillion dollar
profiteering)... or... is this name-game being employed as a cop-out ?
Personally, I am sure that there is "collusion," massive amounts of PAC
money (reported and unreported), outright illegal cash payoffs, hidden
Swiss bank accounts, and assorted other illegal racketeering going on
daily in Big-Oil - and criminality at the highest levels (boardroom
level)... This is probably the only industry in American which can
pull-off and disguise the kind of illegality (that Enron almost
succeeded with). A few billion and you get caught, but a few hundred
billion, and you can usually buy your way out of the problem by
threatening to move your headquarters to Dubai. "Collusion" is an
understatement.
... and why not? OPEC supplies the perfect model for this kind of
nefarious activity .... and in fact, many insiders assert that OPEC
itself was actually the invention of the 'trust mentality' fostered by
Standard Oil. IOW ... the tradition of Esso did not just inspire OPEC
but it was them (the Esso heirs and offspring) who actually *drew up the
blueprint* for OPEC, and presented it to the Arabs in great detail
through ARAMCO.
Nevertheless, getting back down to a more personal level, some of the
stories claiming "supression" of small-time inventors (at gunpoint LOL)
and moreover inventors with very dubious claims to begin with -- strain
the credulity of even those cynics amongst us who appreciate the fact
our oil industry is actually *treasonous* to the American taxpayer, and
a criminal enterprise as defined in statute, and should be, and will be,
severely punished "some day." (in my dreams at least)
All of the above as a prelude to one such name-game story of low level
suppression:
