This is sad. During my time in the CLEC world, MetaSwitch were a kind of customer service darling, always well-regarded for their support and seen to be a hip, modern and disruptive platform, not like those Broadsoft guys.

*nods* I knew they let a lot of people go, but I figured they still had something going.

As of June 6th they toasted the Meta sales team.  I called this happening 2 years ago when MS bought them.  I think they were in it for the core voice => MS teams .  Now I’m in the middle of sourcing and deploying another Perimeta SBC set for mandated ng911 interconnection.   “You’ll have a quote next month,” “still working out  the details for the hardware platform with dell on the new line of servers”…excuses for almost 2 years.  Finaly, getting somewhere, they hard it worked out with the hardware vendor, “You’ll have your quote early next week”  …..time comes and goes…wait a few days.”Hey what’s up with the quote guys?”  “Oh Hey, I guess no one told you, early last week Microsoft let the accounts team from Meta go without warning. The entire team.  I’m surprised no one reached out to you.  I guess you’ll hear from someone at Microsoft shortly…”

That's news to me.

Subject: [VoiceOps] Acquire MetaSwitch

Hello,

We are in the market to acquire / take over a MetaSwitch CFS. In particular, we're looking for the virtual edition that runs purely in VMWare.

The components we'd need are:

    CFS

    MRS (Media Resource Server)

    Perimeta

    SAS (Service Assurance Server)

    MetaView Server

These are fairly common components.

Given the MetaSwitch products are no longer sold, and Microsoft is EOLing them, and not taking new support contracts, we're not talking about a big cash up front kind of deal, but, instead a revenue share kind of arrangement.

Anyone that has one and is interested, contact me directly off-list.

Cheers,

Jawaid
