Starting this past Friday (March 29), Bandwidth has started blocking outgoing 
SMS/MMS of ours that contain common swear words and other "bad" words.  When 
confronted about this, Bandwidth claims they have to do this because of the 
CTIA "Messaging Principles and Best Practices" document, which states that 
senders "should take affirmative steps and employ tools that can monitor and 
prevent Unwanted Messages and content, including for example content that: [is] 
obscene/illicit".

However, this text has existed since at least 2019, so we're confused why 
enforcement is only starting now (if indeed these swear/"bad" words are 
"obscene/illicit").

Has anyone else seen this?  Are other carriers doing this too?

We don't want to get into needless policing of our customers' messaging 
traffic, especially their casual chats with friends who are accustomed to such 
informal language, which seems like a reasonable use of the P2P routes we have.
