Do I read it right?
The message should not pass the maillist server as it may not be copyed.
Then it is not addressed to me so it is not my business.

As for the answer, it might also have something to do with networking. On my
W'98 machine, the machine does not go down as long as the dialup networking
is not down. This dialup networking does not go down as long as any app is
using the network (also local trafic which should not use the dialup
connection). And yes, vnc is regarded as one of the networking apps. This
somehow is related to the order in which apps are started and networking
connections are established... Hence, try to twiggle the order of starting
apps or network details.
