I got a sort of answer to this one a year or two ago, that enables you to transfer files using nothing more than VNC, with Winzip installed at each end.
All you do is. At the Viewer End (Connect to remote server any time before point 3 and minimise VNC window) 1) Zip up the file you want to transfer. 2) Open the file in Winzip, Select Actions/UUencode. 3) Open the resulting file in Notepad, Highlight all text and select copy. 4) Click on minimised VNC window and wait for the screen to restore. 5) When normal VNC control is restored create a new text document at the remote PC and paste the contents of the clipboard. 6) Change the extension of the remote file to UUE and open with Winzip at the remote server. The file is transferred. I know it sounds a lot but it takes longer to write than to do. Having said this, Would it not be possible to, for example have a version of VNC which uses the clipboard which is already supported, as its file transfer protocol. I guess this may be a way to go if the need is there. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the line: 'unsubscribe vnc-list' in the message BODY See also: http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/intouch.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------
