Correct, no monitor, no video, so nothing for VNC to work with. All you
need is a 15pin D plug and link some pins :

ground pin 4 for 13" (640x480)
ground pin 10 for 21" (1024x768)
ground pin 4 and link pins 7&10 for 13" multisync (up to 800x600 IIRC)
ground pin 4 and use a diode between pins 7&10 instead of the wire link for
17" or 21" multisync depending which way round the diode is.

Pin 11 will do for ground (IIRC). I think the multisync options will work
on this machine, it doesn't on some of the older ones.

Alternatively, if you use one of the many Mac-VGA adapters that are
available, you can leave the adapter plugged in and connect a monitor when
you need to.
