I bet there are more apps that give similar problems. These problems come from the location where the Xserver is running and which keyboard it thinks it has available: The eXceed Xserver runs on your PC and the vnc Xserver runs on the sun. Both think they have the local keyboard but as you can see, the Xvnc has not! This needs an update of the keyboard definition. Best to try to find the application xkeycaps to help you with this. If xkeycaps is not available at your sun, get it from your favorite ftp server. Then start it where you have the problems and select the keyboard you realy have. This will remove a lot of keyboard problems. Minor detail: Some apps on Sun rely on the sun keyboard which has far more keys than your pc keyboard. You can use xkeycaps to remap them to what you like or use the xkeycaps virtual keyboard. For xkeycaps details, read the xkeycaps documentation.
