Hi Alex, nothing unnormal in the event log I got WhatRoute and tried a ping but it didn't come through, so this seems to be the problem. But why? The server has 128.0.0.5 as adres and the volumes can be used by the Mac. But no ping??? The message of vncthing is: "The server could not be found. This may be because the server is not running, or because the adress of the server was incorrect." The message of Telnet is: "Host or gateway not responding: 128.0.0.5" Thanks for your patience Claus
That sounds very odd indeed. Next thing to check would be the event log; try to see if there are any odd events showing up. The strange thing is that you should get a rejection very quickly over a local LAN. What I am concerned about is that you may have significant other issues with your network if you were getting a connection rejected. Could you post the actual message you get back? I am asking because it sounds more like the attempt to connect is timing out than that it is connecting and being rejected. If you can, also do a ping against the server. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rothweiler, Claus" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tuesday, 2002-03-26 07:38 Subject: AW: VNC on NT4-Server with Mac client > Hi Alex, > sorry for the late answer, the mailserver was down for 3 days ...! > the rejection results after a waiting period of several minutes (3-4). > In the task bar the icon shows the server running.
