I have found the problem; the line in inetd.conf read: vnc-800x600x24 stream tcp nowait nobody /usr/local/bin/Xvnc -inetd -query -localhost -once -geometry 800x600 -depth 24
Now it says vnc-800x600x24 stream tcp nowait root /usr/local/bin/Xvnc -inetd -query [servername] -once -geometry 800x600 -depth 24 and it works. Sorry for wasting your time. thanks Mark -----Original Message----- From: "Beerse, Corni" [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 26 March 2002 13:27 To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: RE: VNC on SuSE 7.3 Sorry, I don't have any active Suse around to see details. What do `ipchains -L` say? How about `/etc/rc.d/init.d/ipchains status`. Those are some basic firewalling commands. Search the howtos and manual pages for details.
