Hi Alex, sorry for the late answer, the mailserver was down for 3 days ...! the rejection results after a waiting period of several minutes (3-4). In the task bar the icon shows the server running. And the task manager shows a running WinVNC.exe process. I tried several times uninstalling and new installing of VNC on the server but without any success...

In any case, I think we have resolved this. The VNC server is most likely *not* running, since you got no telnet response. Did it immediately reject the connection? If so, then it is definitely not running on that port, and you may have to reboot the server manually. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rothweiler, Claus" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, 2002-03-22 14:39 Subject: RE: VNC on NT4-Server with Mac client : so I got BetterTelnet and had the host name (IP) followed by space and 5800 : and later with 5900 (the 5800 was mentioned in the VNC manual and 5900 was : mentioned here) but I had no luck.
