Just tried, using TightVNC server and client, locally (SPARC Solaris 8, Sun Blade 100, StarOffice 5.2, vnc startup providing a CDE environment), and it came up fine; not stuck at the splash screen or anything like that. Note: I had the depth for the VNC server set to 8 (reason I use it is mainly to accomodate stupid apps that don't work unless 8-bit depth is the default, which I otherwise don't like); I haven't tried running StarOffice under VNC with 24-bit depth, although I don't have any reason to believe that it won't work. -- ftp> get |fortune 377 I/O error: smart remark generator failed Bogonics: the primary language inside the Beltway mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.smart.net/~rlhamil --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the line: 'unsubscribe vnc-list' in the message BODY See also: http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/intouch.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------
