Hi there,

I've got a W2K machine with no keyboard, mouse or screen physically
plugged in. I purchased it like this hoping I could use VNC to access
it.

Things are mostly fine however I occassionally lose the ability to open
files and launch control panels via VNC. When I try opening a file,
nothing happens i.e. double-clicking, selecting then returning,
right-click & open. Additionally when I try opening a control panel I
get 'access denied'... (interestingly I can go to the command line and
issue a 'control' command successfully)...

I'm wondering if these things are somehow related to WinVNC. I tried
searching the archives but the search engine wasn't behaving (not
showing results). My apologies if this type of question has been asked
before.

I should also tell you that I'm accessing the PC using VNCThing on Mac
OS X (I also tried the traditional Mac Classic version with the same
results) and that WinVNC is running as a service.

Thanks so much for any light that you can shed on this.

Kind regards,
Christopher
