One other thing you will need to do if you use kde is start the server with 16 bits per pixel (bpp). the flag "-depth 16" will do it. If you use xdm, you can put this line in your /etc/X11/xdm/Xservers file :40 local /usr/local/bin/Xvnc :40 -httpd /usr/lib/vnc/classes \ - -dontdisconnect -desktop "KB9MCI" -co /usr/lib/X11/rgb -geometry 900x510 \ - -depth 16 This will start the webserver on 5840 and vnc on 5890. this should show you a login screen if it works. hope that helps, - -- Bryan Fields, KB9MCI ____________________ Your talents will be recognized and suitably rewarded. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE8UboA1n1EIlKF06ARAsS+AJ9HSmPTpz32e/DmstuY0tYxa/kRFgCg7VLU 1pE02xvlk3T2t4v9hK9U/Dk= =PwCy -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the line: 'unsubscribe vnc-list' in the message BODY See also: http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/intouch.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------
