G'day ... Yes, I've read the FAQ that addresses this, and no, it doesn't apply.
System: Dell P-II, dual 300MHz, 256MB ram, lots of disk, W2K-Pro SP2, all current patches. Attempting to run Setup.exe from both WinExpl and cmdshell, same behavior: process starts (as evidenced by entry in Task Mgr), WinExpl cursor shows hourglass for a few seconds, then goes away, but InstallShield never appears ... TaskMgr shows an 870K process having done 890bytes of "I/O Other", and 203 page-swaps, then on other activity. The download was fine ... I ran the same one on a different system (Dell P-III dual, 833MHz, 1GB ram, lots of disk, W2K-Server), and it installed fine and runs great. The only significant difference I can see is that the failure occurred on a Pro, and the Server installation succeeded, but nothing in the docs lead me to believe that VNC is *only* intended for Server systems ... is it? Thanks all, and have a happy, safe and peaceful New Year ... all but you, Osama. doug --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the line: 'unsubscribe vnc-list' in the message BODY See also: http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/intouch.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------
