This is a system problem with Win95, goto the shortcut (if you have active
desktop right click) and open the properties, change the target and startin.
Or if you don't want to change the settings, just open a dos prompt and
type it in yourself. Or open an explorer window to c:\program files\orl\vnc
and run the .reg file manually. Or write your own dos .bat file. or write
your own script. Or package vnc yourself with the default reg settings
included.

Steve,

Please forgive my ignorance, but...
When I am attempting to install the Default reg. settings I simply go to
the start menu, programs, WinVNC, Administrative Tools, Install Default
Registry Settings. How do I apply the directory addresses you suggested?

Have a Good Day,

                    Please respond to
                    vnc-list

That is because you are using a space in program files without quotes. try
"c:\program Files\ORL\VNC\VNCHooks_Settings.reg"
or
c:\progra~1\orl\vnc\vnchooks_settings.reg

They are the same to windows.

Subject: Installing default registry settings

Hello everyone,

I am new to the group and this is my first posting. I am attempting
to deploy WinVNC across my LAN/WAN for administration purposes. (About
125-150 users using a variety of Windoze versions, mostly '95.) I am still
experimenting with it and have found that on most machines it works great
but on some machines I cannot install the default registry settings. I get
this error:

Registry Error
Cannot import C:\Program: Error opening the file. There may 've a disk or
file system error.

then I get the following error:

Registry Error
Cannot import Files\ORL\VNC\VNCHooks_Settings.reg: Error opening the file.
There may be a disk or file system error.

The sessions still seem to work but it bothers me when I get errors I do
not understand. Any input would be appreciated.

thanks in advance,

Have a Good Day,

Michael L.
