So you've modified the binary. Nothing wrong with this so far... > As far as I am aware, this is legal under the GPL. If not, somebody prove > me wrong. You're violating section 3 (see http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/gpl.html for full GPL text - I've edited section 3 for length): 3. You may copy and distribute the Program (or a work based on it, under Section 2) in object code or executable form ... provided that you also do one of the following: a) Accompany it with the complete corresponding machine-readable source code ... or, b) Accompany it with a written offer ... to give any third party, ... a complete machine-readable copy of the corresponding source code ... c) [doesn't apply] You've got problems since you're modifying a binary, you haven't *got* the source to the modified VNC you're distributing, so you're in violation. > If anyone wants changes to VNC, we would be glad to do them. (Some posts > about hiding the icon, we can't do, but changing it and other stuff we can > do) ...the reason why there are so many posts asking for changes is that changes are rather simple to do (not to write, don't get me wrong) in the source code to VNC (any version - the source is available to all), then you recompile. This is how people bring about changes in functionality, not by using a blunt tool like 'resource hacker'. Invest in a compiler, or if you can't afford one (how much for a decent win32 C compiler nowardays?) install linux & get learning on gcc. In the meantime, you're in clear violation of the GPL, and I don't really see how you can fix that without withdrawing your modified version. -- Illtud Daniel [EMAIL PROTECTED] Uwch Ddadansoddwr Systemau Senior Systems Analyst Llyfrgell Genedlaethol Cymru National Library of Wales Yn siarad drosof fy hun, nid LlGC - Speaking personally, not for NLW --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the line: 'unsubscribe vnc-list' in the message BODY See also: http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/intouch.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------
