Don't you think your brother-in-law will discover, figure out, and defeat
that one as well? Or is the run key in the registry beyond the scope of his
skills?

<DEARABBYREPLY>
Is there any reason you and your brother-in-law can't just decide on a
single password and both use it? Or are you and he engaged in some little
sophomoric war using your mother's PC as a battlefield? The poor dear
probably "can't find the icons on her desktop" because her memory is
littered with trivia about how to walk through the minefield you and your
brother-and-law have constructed for each other, as if the quirks of modern
computing weren't enough to intimidate a beginner.
