I am running vncserver on mandrake linux 7.something. I run the server at work - and am working from home. I can successfully get to my server via the client. When I attempt to get in via the Web Browser (IE explorer 5.5) - I get:
The page cannot be found The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please try the following: a.. If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly. b.. Open the 4kg9ul:5801 home page, and then look for links to the information you want. c.. Click the Back button to try another link. d.. Click Search to look for information on the Internet. HTTP 404 - File not found Internet Explorer I looked at the log file for the server - in this case 1 - and see that it says it is listening on port 580. I can get to other URL's on the same intranet at work if I just type in 4kg9ul (above) and go to the default port I get my webserver running on my box. Could someone tell me why the downloaded client would work - and not the browser. Yes, my browser is java-enabled. This seems like a server side problem...
