>>Is there a VNC client that will work on this (mac os x 10.1)? > >the best available right now is VNCThing by Dair Grant
Note that VNCThing does have a slightly annoying bug when viewing Xvnc servers. -Dragging often does not work. [Got anywhere with that yet Dair?] An alternative is VNCDimension: http://www.mdimension.com/Community/ It has its own "little foibles" (like minimising the window, or hiding the app tends to lose your connection, as well as a bug when opening a second client that is smaller than the first -it then only redraws the section of the first up to the size of the second...), so it's really up to you which is best for your needs. >>Is there a VNC server that will work on this? > >the only one I know of is OSXvnc Website at http://www.osxvnc.org/ That's if you want to view the OS X desktop (which you probably do...) But if you don't need that (i.e. you don't need to run OS X specific apps), the standard Xvnc can be compiled under OS X (I presume it still works with 10.1), and that will then give you a 'normal' X11 desktop. Hope that helps!
